2025 Camp Friendship
July 21-25
Greater New Orleans Area

Camp Friendship is a free week-long, day camp for children - 3 years of age through high school - with Spina Bifida and similar orthopedic conditions. Campers are paired one on one with trained high school age counselors and participate in arts & crafts, swimming and other planned activities.

Camp Update 4/3/25:
Dear Camp Friendship Campers and Families,

It is with both sadness and excitement that we announce Mrs. Jamie MacDonald has stepped down as Director of Camp Friendship to pursue new career opportunities. Since taking the lead in 2016, Mrs. Jamie has been a driving force in creating a fun, safe, and memorable experience for our campers, staff, volunteers, and the entire community. We are incredibly grateful for her dedication and hard work, and we wish her and her family all the best in their future endeavors. Mrs. Jamie has identified a new camp director and still plans to spend some time with us during camp week!

We are excited to welcome Ms. Katlynn Klein as our new Camp Director. A local special education teacher and camp coordinator with extensive experience working with children with disabilities, Ms. Katlynn is excited to embrace this new role. To read more about Ms. Katlynn, click HERE.

Mrs. Jamie, Ms. Katlynn, and the board are collaborating closely to ensure a smooth transition, so Camp Friendship’s “Best Week Ever” continues without interruption. We sincerely appreciate your patience and support during this time.

Members Under 3 Years of Age (Baby Day):

Baby Day at Camp Friendship is a day for our littlest members, under the age of 3, and their family members to meet other families and experience camp for the day. Lunch will be provided, and stipends are available to families who travel in from outside the greater New Orleans area. Baby Day is scheduled for Tuesday, July 22, 2025.

Campers with Medical Needs:

Campers’ medical needs are met by trained staff. A registered nurse will be on site for the duration of the camp.

Out of Town Families:

If you live outside of the Greater New Orleans area, we offer hotel stipends and mileage reimbursement for your child to join us for camp. A block of rooms have been reserved at the TownePlace Suites New Orleans/Metairie for our out of town families for camp week. Click the "Hotel Booking Link" button below.
